We’ve heard of not kissing on the first date.  Or saving sex until marriage.  But how about waiting until you’re married before the first kiss?

Chicago residents Melody LaLuz, 28, and Claudaniel Fabien, 30, have made international news by sharing their first kiss at the altar.  The two teach abstinence in Chicago’s public schools and decided to practice what they preach.

The pair adopted the “no-kissing” rule as a way to prevent things from getting out of handTo avoid temptation while dating, they ensured they were never alone with each other.  When watching movies on the couch, they sat straight on the sofa, never lying down.  “It really tested us and encouraged us to grow closer in our hearts and our minds, just expressing things verbally,” Fabien said.

When the moment came for their first kiss after they were officially married, they locked in a two-minute smooch while wedding guests cheered.

Despite abstaining from sex and all forms of intimacy, the couple are not at all worried about performing on their upcoming Bahamas honeymoon.  Though they have heard the phrase, “test drive a car before you buy,” LaLuz has her own analogy: “You can’t take the car out of the parking lot until you pay for it.”
