Australian researchers report that men who masturbate frequently have a lower risk of developing prostate cancer.  The study by the Cancer Council of Victoria surveyed 1,000 men who developed prostate cancer and 1,250 who did not.  All of the men were between the ages of 20 and 50.  The study found that men who masturbated more than five times each week were one-third less likely to develop prostate cancer.

The researchers told the BBC that the prostate produces one of the fluids involved in ejaculation and that frequent masturbation appears to flush out carcinogens that can collect in the prostate.  Sexual intercourse may not have the same effect because it increases the risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease, which could raise the risk of cancer.

Porn company Vivid Entertainment is planning to release a film allegedly showing guitar legend Jimi Hendrix having sex with two women.  Vivid, which has also released sex tapes featuring Pam Anderson and Kim Kardashian, says that the tape is authentic and will be sold in stores and online.

Kathy Etchingham, one of Hendrix’s girlfriends from the 1960s, says the man in the film couldn’t be Hendrix.  “He would never have allowed anyone to see that,” she said. “In private he was very shy and would cover up.”

Hendrix, one of the most innovative rock guitarists in history, died of a drug overdose in 1970 at the age of 27.

FHM Magazine voted Transformers co-star Megan Fox as the sexiest woman in the world based on a poll of FHM readers.  The 21-year-old model/actress beat out Angelina Jolie (#12), Paris Hilton (#77), and last year’s champion, Jessica Alba, who still ranked #3 in spite of being very pregnant.  Britney Spears came in last place at #100.

FHM said nearly 9 million votes were cast for the 14th edition of the annual poll.  The top 10 were:

During her 20-year film career, actress Christina Ricci has had to steam up the set with some of Hollywood’s hottest stars: Johnny Depp, Justin Timberlake, and even Charlize Theron.  But she wasn’t expecting any hanky panky on the set of the family film “Speed Racer.”

On the very first day, Ricci’s animal co-star in the scene copped a major feel.  “The chimp jumped over and grabbed my left breast and hung off me,” Ricci said, slightly embarrassed.  “It happened in the middle of the first take on the first day of shooting — it was painful.”  But in an attempt to “not upset the chimp any further,” Ricci said she stood still and cried meekly, “help, help, ouch” until she got the attention of the crew, who were all facing the other way.  “They thought it was hilarious and constantly reminded me the whole time we filmed,” she added.

Men everywhere are breathing a sigh of relief!  A study published in the May issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine concludes the optimal time for sexual intercourse is 3 to 13 minutes.

But before you do a happy dance in the bedroom, you have to realize this time does NOT include foreplay and afterplay.  And sexual intercourse that lasts less than 3 minutes is considered “too short.”

A four-week study of 1,500 couples in 2005 found that the median time for sexual intercourse was 7.3 minutes.  It’s difficult for both older and younger men to make sexual intercourse last much longer, said Marianne Brandon, a clinical psychologist and director of Wellminds Wellbodies in Annapolis, Maryland.  “There are so many myths in our culture of what other people are doing sexually,” Brandon said. “Most people’s sex lives are not as exciting as other people think they are.”

The truth is that time matters, size matters, it all matters.  But what’s most important is that couples make an intimate, emotional connection with each other during sex.

Lindsay Lohan’s nude photos honoring Marilyn Monroe have become an Internet sensation.  New York magazine, which commissioned the photographs, saw its Web traffic soar by 2,000% with over 20 million page views per day for the photographs, versus 2 million views for the entire rest of its site.  Now the magazine is threatening to sue Web sites and newspapers that are publishing the images without permission.

Lohan, a 21-year-old actress with a troubled history of arrests and rehab, got naked for photographer Bert Stern to recreate one of Monroe’s most famous photo shoots.  Just six weeks before her death in 1962, Monroe posed nude with just scarves and jewelry in what is now known as “The Last Sitting.”  Shortly after, Monroe died from an overdose of barbiturates.  Let’s hope Lohan doesn’t recreate that tragic scene.

Former CNN anchorwoman Paula Zahn told friends her sexless marriage to Richard Cohen drove her into the arms of another man. Zahn said the fire went out of her 20-year marriage long before Cohen learned of her affair last August when he found his wife’s “lurid” sex diary. “She and Richard weren’t having sex for some time,” a friend said.

Friends of Cohen tell a different story: that Zahn betrayed him by sleeping with his close buddy, Paul Fribourg. “I trusted Paul and I trusted Paula,” Cohen told a friend. “I had no inkling there was a long-term romance.”

This he-said/she-said marriage implosion happens across the world on a daily basis, but such intimate details become news when it involves a naughty diary and a celebrity such as Zahn. Cohen’s friend called the diary “shocking” and “lurid.” Zahn’s friend said the handwritten diary was more about love than lust. “You know how it is when you’re first in love,” a friend said. “She was euphoric. She was like a 16-year-old schoolgirl.”

Zahn initially became famous from another “sex scandal.” In January 2002, CNN aired an advertisement for its American Morning news show hosted by Zahn. The commercial called Zahn “sexy” and used a zipper-opening sound effect. The network quickly pulled the ad after it received significant criticism for an “undignified and sexist portrayal of a serious journalist.”

In one of the biggest music PR blunders in recent memory, a press release for the Bonnaroo music festival in Tennessee indicated that New York’s all-femme tribute band Lez Zeppelin would appear at the festival in June.  The problem is, some members of the press apparently didn’t read the release close enough, and rumors of a Led Zeppelin reunion concert flooded the Web. 

As a result, a number of prominent news organizations including the Associated Press and Chicago Sun-Times erroneously reported that it would be Led Zeppelin topping Bonnaroo’s roster.  Embarrassing corrections followed within hours, some defending the mistake: “The press release was misleading, to say the least,” read the Sun-Times’ retraction.

Led Zeppelin had recently reunited to play a gig in London.  A lottery was conducted for tickets to that show, and many tickets sold for thousands of dollars each.  The wild success of the London show, plus the fact that Zeppelin singer Robert Plant is appearing at Bonnaroo with Alison Krauss, perhaps led to wishful thinking for the first Zeppelin concert in America in over two decades.

I feel sorry for all the Zeppelin fans in America who spent over $300+ per ticket hoping to ride the Stairway to Heaven in Bonnaroo.

Somehow believing that fake bills were appropriate payment for fake boobs, Walberto Ramirez was arrested for using counterfeit $20 bills to pay strippers.

Ramirez visited the Déjà Vu Showgirls club in Tampa and paid $60 plus $20 tip for three lap dances.  The counterfeit bills were so poorly made that club managers quickly notified police.  “All of the bills were obvious fakes with no watermarks and poor quality,” the arresting officer wrote.  Ramirez was charged with felony possession of forged bills.  He posted $4,000 bail and was released.

As for the stiffed dancer?  Unfortunately the club doesn’t cover money entertainers lose to counterfeiters, but they did reimburse her $50 house fee.
